The Language Center of the Faculty of Language Sciences, Communication and Arts at the Pedagogical University of Maputo will host the Grand Final of the 19th Camões Eloquence Prize on November 18, 2022, at 2:00 pm.

In this edition of the Camões Eloquence Prize 56 students from different universities and courses competed. The jury selected the ten finalists, based on the argumentative and rhetorical originality of the texts submitted, who will now compete in the Grand Final.

The finalists had the opportunity to attend, between November 14th and 17th, an Orality Workshop guided by the actress Ana Magaia, where they worked and perfected oral communication techniques that will help the contestants at the moment of delivering their speeches before a jury composed by the actress Ana Magaia, the university lecturer Paula Cruz and the Camões Reader at the Pedagogical University of Maputo. It will be up to the jury members to assess the argumentative and rhetorical capacity of the ten finalists to decide who will be the winner of the 19th edition of the Camões Eloquence Prize.

The Camões Eloquence Prize is the result of a partnership between Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo, the Faculty of Language Sciences, Communication and Arts of the Pedagogical University of Maputo and the Portuguese Language Center - Camões installed at this university and is supported by Plural Editores of Mozambique.
