The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) have arrested a Nigerian wanted since 2010 by the Dutch authorities for drug trafficking, a source from the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) announced yesterday.
The man fled the Netherlands in 2010 after being found with 23 kilos of cocaine, said Hilário Lole, SERNIC's spokesman in Maputo, quoted by Lusa.
In Maputo, the fugitive was arrested with allegedly false documents, as the name he used to identify himself was different from the one the Dutch authorities gave him, said the spokesman.
It should be noted that Mozambique is seen by various international organizations as a drug corridor, mainly originating in Asia and crossing the Indian Ocean.
