The Mozambican writer Paulina Chiziane will give a lecture this Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP-Maputo) on the theme: "Women's Education in Mozambique: yesterday, today and tomorrow".
The event will take place at the Paulus Gerdes Amphitheatre, Lhanguene University Campus, and is part of the celebrations for Mozambican Women's Day, April 7.
The aim of the lecture is to highlight women and their role in the country's social and economic development.
Paulina Chiziane, Doctor Honoris Causa of UP-Maputo since 2022, was recognized for her contributions to Mozambican literature and for her research on the condition of women in society.
At the time, he warned of the need for Mozambique to produce its own knowledge, arguing that excessive dependence could put the country's sovereignty at risk.
