Maputo National Park: A reference in biodiversity protection

Parque nacional de Maputo: Uma referência na protecção da biodiversidade

Maputo National Park (PNM), in the district of Matutuíne, in the province of Maputo, is considered by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) GEF), as a place of reference in biodiversity protection and tourism promotion.

Paola Ridolfi, Acting Director of Strategy, Policy and Operations at the GEF, visited the PNM this Wednesday to assess the degree of implementation of the various projects developed in the tourist and biodiversity resort.

During his visit, he highlighted the fact that the Park is implementing, in partnership with the GEF, projects that help and accelerate the development of local communities.

According to Ridolfi, "This park is a very positive example of relations between Mozambique and the GEF, and it is an important project for the lives of the communities and for Mozambique's economy", quoted by AIM.
