Ossufo Momade promete renegociar contratos de mega-projectos

The presidential candidate of the Renamo party, Ossufo Momade, promises to renegotiate natural gas exploration contracts with some mega-projects.

Ossufo Momade was speaking during a popular rally on another day of canvassing in the district of Lago, in Niassa province.

"When we become president, we're going to renegotiate the megaprojects so that we can benefit Mozambicans," he said, adding that the gas that exists in Inhambane goes to South Africa, but is extracted here, and benefits us little.

"The megaprojects installed in Cabo Delgado province don't benefit Mozambicans either, so we're going to change that. Only a handful of people get rich in Mozambique, while the majority remain in poverty," he said, quoted by the newspaper "O País".

As for the electoral manifesto for the five-year period 2025-2029, Ossufo Momade explained that it is supported by seven pillars, some of which are: development policies, the health sector, and agriculture.
