Nearly 200 players in the culture and tourism sectors, managers and owners of tourist establishments, musicians, dancers and DJs from Vilankulo, Inhambane province, held talks with the minister responsible, Eldevina Materula.

Musicians are asking for sound equipment, recording studios and more events, while operators and the Tourism Association are calling for improvements to roads, the airport, e-visa, the fight against corruption and training.

The members of the Tourism, Cultural and Creative Industries Cooperative are calling for Tourist Guides who have already been trained and have identification cards to be given business at large-scale events.

For the administrator of the Vilankulo district, Edmundo Galiza Matos Jr, "relations between the tour operators in Bazaruto Park and the Administration, and the need to draw up a Tourism Marketing Plan were other issues raised".

The occasion was used to acquaint those present with Decree 74/2022 on the Regulation of Tourist and Catering Enterprises.
