Nyusi appoints new Rector of UEM

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi appointed the academic Manuel Guilherme Júnior as Rector of the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM).

Guilherme Junior is a senior staff member at UEM, where, in addition to teaching at the law school, he held the position of director of cooperation.

He has a PhD level, several published books, the most recent released this year being Commercial Law Vol. 1, 2. and Legal Dimension of SADC and he is also a lawyer.

Manuel Guilherme is also known for being a political commentator for different media outlets and a guest professor at several universities in Europe.

Guilherme Júnior replaces Prof. Orlando Quilambo, at the largest and oldest university in the country. (Peace Room).

Also this Monday, Filipe Nyusi appointed Francisco Ussene Mucanheia as his advisor.

In separate Presidential Orders and on the proposal of the University Council of Lúrio University, the Head of State reappointed Marcelino Marta Liphola to the position of Vice-Chancellor of Lúrio University and appointed Fred Charles Nelson to the position of Vice-Chancellor of Lúrio University.
