This Sunday, the President of the Republic urged his fellow Mozambicans to get involved in the country's social and political stability.
On the occasion, the Head of State said that the most important thing is that Mozambicans have the capacity and conditions to restore the peace and tranquility that everyone craves, regardless of skin color, religion or party affiliation.
Nyusi said that the visit to the official residence of the Pope (the highest leader of the Catholic Church) in Mozambique was intended to inspire him to continue working for peace.
Today is the first Sunday [of the year] and we decided to get together with these young people, who are mostly from the streets or on drugs. But they are young people with a conscience. They come here every day, at the end of the day, they have a meal, and it's the result of a lot of support from people who aren't just Catholics," he said at the time.
