Today, the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, swore in Joaquim Adriano Sive as the new Commander General of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique.
On the occasion, Chapo challenged the new Commander General of the PRM to regain the public's trust in the police and to instill discipline in its members, in order to face up to the current challenges facing society.
Speaking at Sive's swearing-in ceremony, the Head of the Defense and Security Forces reminded the newly appointed president that kidnappings are one of the major challenges that must be tackled.
"The kidnappings that take away the peace of our families, often with the complicity of those who should be protecting us, are an outrage that we will not tolerate (...) we will confront organized crime, terrorism and other related crimes, ensuring that security is once again a reality for all Mozambicans," said Chapo.
