The new president of the Assembly of the Republic, Margarida Talapa, has pledged to do everything she can to meet the expectations of the people, despite taking office at a troubled political time.
In his initial speech after taking office, he promised obedience to the law and to work with the whole of society to pacify Mozambique, with a view to the well-being of all.
He addressed a special message to those who had previously served on this body, namely Samora Machel, Marcelino dos Santos, Eduardo Mulémbwè, Verónica Macamo and Esperança Bias.
