On Tuesday in Lichinga, the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, held a meeting with State Officials and Agents (FAE) as part of his working visit to Niassa province.
At the meeting, the Head of State listened to and took note of the public servants' various concerns and assured them that the government is committed to finding solutions to the challenges presented.
"We have noted the concerns and we will have to sit down to find solutions. This is the reason for our visit," said the President of the Republic.
At the start of the meeting, the statesman explained the purpose of his visit to Niassa and pointed out that he was following a previously defined agenda to tour the country's provinces. The President stressed that this approach allows him to be closer to the population and to get to know them better.
close to the challenges faced by citizens and state servants. "We're visiting the provinces to get closer to the people and, together with the people, work to address their concerns."
he said.
The Head of State stressed that meetings with state employees and agents are an essential part of his agenda, as they allow him to listen directly to the concerns of the class and draw up appropriate solutions. "I know of some concerns, which are legitimate and which we think we can gradually resolve," said Chapo, adding that the government has already begun to resolve some of these issues. Among the measures already implemented, the President highlighted the
payment of the 13th salary, the start of overtime and shift and a half payments, and the regularization of payments to suppliers of goods and services to the state.
According to him, the government is making these payments in stages, according to financial availability. "It's important to pay some of the overtime while waiting for financial availability as a result of the approval of the State Budget," he explained.
Despite the progress, President Chapo acknowledged that there are still challenges to overcome, including the implementation of the Single Salary Table (TSU), the slowness of administrative acts and the lack of a visa from the Administrative Court for new civil servants, which causes delays in the payment of salaries. "We are making a great effort to value the work that our colleagues are doing," assured the Head of State.
During the meeting, Niassa state employees and agents raised concerns about the lack of liquidity for the payment of death grants, start-up and location allowances for new employees.
In addition, questions were raised about the slowness in setting pensions and the poor situation of some officials after the implementation of the TSU.
The President of the Republic guaranteed that all the concerns have been duly noted and will be analyzed and addressed by the government.
"You can always count on our support and, whenever necessary, we'll show up more often in Niassa, we'll talk more often. All the concerns that have been raised have been noted and we will work to resolve them little by little in order to improve the working conditions of state employees and agents throughout the country," concluded the President of the Republic.
