NASA has begun testing vertical takeoff electric flying cabs

NASA has begun testing electric vertical takeoff/landing vehicles, a process it is collaborating on with Joby Aviation of the U.S..

It is known that testing began on August 30 and is expected to run until September 10. Until then, says The Verge that NASA hopes to "gather acoustic and aircraft performance data to use for modeling and simulation in future aircraft 'concepts'."

It is also known that NASA hopes to collect this assessment with Joby Avition's six-rotor aircraft, an aircraft you can see in the gallery above.
