In South Africa: Mozambicans propose a fund to support communities

Mozambicans in South Africa are proposing the establishment of a community support fund to respond to emergencies.

According to Fausto Jamissene, a member of the advisory board of the National Institute for Mozambican Communities Abroad, based in South Africa, this fund would be used for various purposes, including extreme cases.

INACE's mission is to promote support for Mozambican communities in the diaspora, namely individual Mozambican emigrants and/or those organized into associations.

The proposal was presented at a meeting held at the weekend with the Assembly of the Republic's Committee on International Relations, Cooperation and Communities, which is on a working visit to South Africa.

The president of the seventh committee of the Assembly of the Republic, Cataria Dimande, welcomes the proposal and praises the ongoing initiative of periodic contributions to respond to unexpected situations:

This Monday, the Committee on International Relations, Cooperation and Communities meets with TEBA, the labor recruitment agency, mainly for South Africa's mining industry. (RM)
