Two hundred and eighty-five women and young people living in Maputo and Matola have successfully completed the bartending course offered by Coca-Cola Sabco Mozambique (CCSM), a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa.
The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Instituto Nacional de Turismo, IP (INATUR, IP), aimed to train women bartenders and aspiring bartenders in these cities.
Duncan Wyness, Managing Director of CCSM, praised the results achieved, highlighting the company's commitment to "creating shared opportunities for the company and the communities in which it operates".
"At CCBA, our aim is to promote the economic inclusion of women as an essential part of our sustainability strategy," he said.
Duncan Wyness also reinforced his commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of women throughout the company's value chain, with the aim of "providing them with more opportunities for employment and economic growth".
Richard Baulane, Director General of INATUR, stressed the importance of training and strengthening the capacities of women and young people to boost the country's development, especially in the tourism and catering sectors.
"We are committed to continuing to collaborate with partners like CCBA to promote the country's socio-economic development," said Richard Baulane.
