A resident of Golf Residence, whose identity is unknown at this stage, shot at demonstrators who were banging pots and pans in the city of Maputo.

According to a CDD news report, the act took place last night at around 9pm in Rua do Rio Inhamiara, as part of another demonstration called by Venâncio Mondlane, the presidential candidate.

The individual, who apparently felt irritated by the noise of the pots and pans, got out of his car with a pistol and shot at the demonstrators, said a source who lives near the scene.

The demonstrations, which are taking place all over the country, were called by the presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, in protest at the results of the October 9 elections.
