Agricultural production in the country increased from 20 million tons to 43 million tons in the period from 2018 to 2020.
This number is expected to rise to 47 million this year.
The data was made public this Monday in Maputo, at a press conference, by the president of Agribusiness, nutrition and food industry, at the Confederation of Economic Associations.
Hilona Chongo said that the deficient road infrastructure network, high transport and logistics costs, are part of the challenges facing the sector.
