Mozambique started, today, the implementation of the Digital Certification System, which aims to ensure more security and authenticity to official documents. The process is still in the experimental phase and should be ready by the end of this year.
"Starting today the platform will be available for people to use. We are in the pilot phase, but certainly by October or November, Mozambique will be independent to handle the tools without depending on external entities," assured the Brazilian digital certification specialist, Ricardo Custódio.
The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (MCTES), through the National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, is moving forward with the mechanism under the supervision of Brazilian technicians. These specialists are training Mozambican personnel and installing the electronic signature and digital authentication platform.
The system will cover various types of documents, such as ID cards, driving licenses, and public administration documents.
And, according to the National Director of Information System, Studies and Projects at MCTES, Constantino Sotomane, the system will check and validate various documents and contracts.
"We are moving an analog medium to the electronic medium, and we need to make sure there is security," he warned .
