In the city of Maputo, in the Maxaquene neighborhood, the situation remains tense. And the neighborhood has become impassable.

 Despite Venâncio Mondlane's appeal for the demonstrators to stop marching, the population, according to CDD images, continues to burn tires, create barricades and block the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians.

Faced with growing popular anger, the Rapid Intervention Unit (UIR) was forced to retreat and the population continues to burn tires.

The avenue is practically impassable. There are no vehicles passing, let alone public transport.

According to the footage provided by the CDD, the police have been throwing tear gas grenades at people's homes in order to control the situation of the demonstrations.
