The Code of Conduct for IPAJ Public Defenders and Trainees was launched a few days ago in Maputo.
The IPAJ Code of Conduct for Public Defenders and Trainees, which was produced with the support of the Spanish Embassy in Mozambique, is an instrument that should guide public defenders in the way they act.
During the launch, the Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Mateus Saize, urged the public defenders of the Legal Aid and Sponsorship Institute to be rigorous in the exercise of their duties.
Quoted by Radio Mozambique, the government official said that the public defender's behavior should not be questioned.
For her part, the Spanish Ambassador to Mozambique, Teresa Orjales, said she hoped the instrument would contribute to better legal assistance for citizens, especially those in need.
