The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the President of the Portuguese Parliament, Augusto Santos Silva, have invited the President of the People's Republic of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to address Portuguese parliamentarians.

The Ukrainian diplomacy confirmed to the Portuguese Assembly the acceptance of Zelensky's request. However, at that moment, a date had not yet been set for the Ukrainian president to appear before the Portuguese parliament, and it was only confirmed that it would be later this month.

The Portuguese edition of CNN today announced that Zelensky's virtual speech in the Portuguese parliament will take place at 3:00 PM on April 21st.

Volodymyr Zelensky has been speaking in parliaments all over the world. His speeches always include a reference to national events or symbols of each country, something he is likely to repeat in his speech to Parliament.

Zelensky also often uses speeches sometimes to show evidence of Russian aggression, as when he played a video in the US congress showing Russian attacks on civilians, and sometimes to call for more sanctions and weaponry.
