Investidores alemães convidados a investir no sector de energia

German entrepreneurs and investors are invited to invest in the energy sector and finance initiatives that promote access to energy (especially in rural areas) in order to boost the local economy and promote development.

The invitation was made during a round table in Maputo between the German Embassy and representatives of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME), Electricity of Mozambique (EDM-EP), among others.

In his opening speech, Ronald Münch, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mozambique, highlighted the relevance of the event and stressed that Germany, as well as companies from that country, have advanced technology and a great reputation in the energy sector that can be an asset for Mozambique.

He said that Germany was a pioneer in adopting concrete actions for the energy transition in Europe and its companies, together with Mozambican institutions, can establish synergies and exchange experiences in the implementation of Mozambique's Energy Transition Strategy, whose funding for implementation is budgeted at more than 80 billion USD.

The event also recognized Mozambique's energy potential, estimated at 18.6 GW in the hydroelectric sector, 23 TW in solar, 4.5 GW in wind, 1 GW in biomass and 147 MW in geothermal.
