Instagram is incorporating a payment feature that will allow users to make purchases from small businesses via direct messaging, according to a statement from Meta Platforms.

App users need to send messages to the company, add customizations if needed, and place the order in the chat.

They will also be able to follow up on the request and ask any follow-up questions on the same topic of conversation.

The feature reinforces Meta's push to expand its e-commerce offerings.

Instagram's new feature will also allow the use of the Meta Pay payment service to complete purchases.
