A citizen named Ibrahim, Afzal Issa's son, escaped an attempted kidnapping on Eduardo Mondlane Avenue at 1pm today, in front of the Charlot cinema.

The data, which is still scarce and could be updated at any time, indicates that an armed man questioned the victim and put a gun to his head, then tried to drag him to his car.

In the meantime, the victim managed to free himself with the help of the people around him, and at the moment, according to MZNews sources, he is receiving medical attention in one of the hospitals here in Maputo city.

Less than a week ago, a Mozambican businessman of Indian origin was also kidnapped in the city of Maputo, inside his business premises.
