Mozambican international Geny Catamo was once again decisive as he scored the only goal in Sporting's victory over Santa Clara, which secured the "precious" three points.
With this win, Sporting take the lead in the Portuguese top flight, with 69 points, one more than Benfica (68 points), who have yet to play their match on matchday 29.
According to the Portuguese sports press, Catamo's goal came in the 50th minute, when he took advantage of a clear opportunity in the box and didn't waste it.
It was the only goal of the match, played at Santa Clara's home, and secured a crucial victory for Sporting in the fight for the championship.
The goal demonstrates Geny Catamo's maturity and ability to step up at important moments, keeping Sporting in the title race, which promises to bring even more excitement until the end of the season
With this goal, Catamo has now scored seven goals this season, surpassing last season's record of six. However, this figure could still rise, as the championship is not yet over.
