The Mozambican international, Geny Catamo, showed his class by scoring in Sporting's 2-0 win over Rio Ave in the first leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals.

The goal was scored 12 minutes into the first half at the José Alvalade Stadium, following a corner taken by Trincão on the right side of the attack.

Catamo appeared in the area and, without dropping the ball, shot first time on the volley, beating goalkeeper Miszta, who could do nothing to prevent the goal.

In the 45th minute Catamo was fouled inside the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty.

Called upon to convert, Viktor Gyökeres didn't waste any time and increased the lead for the "lions" in true "Panenkian" style.

With this win, Sporting take the lead into the second leg of the semi-finals.
