The extreme-left Geny Catamo will reinforce the Club Sport Marítimo on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal, and should integrate the training that the insulars are conducting in the town of Lousada.
The Portuguese market has its eyes on the Mozambican international, but the player opted for Marítimo, having been convinced by Vasco Seabra, as he is looking to play regularly to reach high levels.
In Marítimo, Geny Catamo will join a team where two colleagues of the National Team are already, namely the central defender and captain Zainadine Jr. and striker Clésio Baúque, who was used several times at the end of last season.
Last season, the Mozambique international was loaned by Sporting to Vitória de Guimarães, having been used in only 10 matches, in which he made three assists.
Born on January 26, 1997, standing 1.74 meters tall, Geny Catamo began his career at Maxaquene before transferring to the Black Bulls in 2018.
In the same year, he moved to Amora FC of Portugal. In the 2019 season he was hired by Sporting Clube de Portugal.
At the beginning of the 2021/22 season, he signed a five season contract with the "lions", but in January he was loaned to Marítimo.
After the loan, he returned to Alvalade. Not having followed with the squad under the orders of coach Rúben Amorim for the training camp in the Algarve, Geny Catamo is now announced at Marítimo where he should continue his career.
