More than 45,000 families are receiving seeds and inputs to relaunch production after losing everything they had grown following the overflow of the Limpopo River in Gaza.

INGD data shows an increase in the number of production areas destroyed in 9 districts. The number of hectares of crops washed away by the rain now stands at 30,000.

The situation has become more critical with the isolation of some communities, thus preventing overland access to food assistance for more than 30,000 families, including 9,000 in the Guijá district.

In all, INGD will assist 87,000 families affected by the floods throughout the province. (Source: O País)
