The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, addressed a message of condolence to King Charles III, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, which occurred yesterday (08), at Balmoral Castle, victim of illness in Scotland.
In the message, the Mozambican Head of State states that it was with deep regret that he learned of the physical disappearance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
"His Majesty's loyalty and sense of mission to his country and the world are cause for admiration.
She embodied the quiet vigor that the world was fortunate to witness over decades. As we mourn the passing of a Stateswoman and a Sovereign who endured and devoted her entire life to the service of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the World, with unparalleled dedication, dignity, humility and with great passion.
We would like to convey the solidarity of the Mozambican people who so respected and cherished His Majesty for everything he did to strengthen the relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that prevail between Mozambique and Great Britain, as well as with the Commonwealth," reads the message from the President of the Republic.
According to President Nyusi, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, Mozambique enjoyed very good relations with the United Kingdom, having joined the Commonwealth as a full member.
"On behalf of the People, the Government of the Republic of Mozambique and in my own address our heartfelt condolences to King Charles III and the royal family, the people and Government of the United Kingdom and the entire Commonwealth on the irreparable loss of the Queen.
We share your loss and pain, therefore, we will be eternally missed and are with you in prayers and thoughts.
May your legacy inspire all of us in the Commonwealth and the World at large to build more just, prosperous and united societies. Please accept, Your Majesty King Charles III, the assurances of my highest consideration and Respect," emphasizes the Mozambican statesman.
