From today, Thursday (08) until Sunday (11), the city of Maputo will host the 10th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FIKANI), to be held under the theme "FIKANI - Tourism, a Tool for Economic Development and Social Transformation".
According to the organizers, the event will be attended by more than 220 exhibitors, both national and foreign, and more than 145 stands to display products and services, including complementary services for hotels, restaurants, entertainment and travel agencies and tours.
The event brings together various personalities to reflect on the potential influence of tourism in improving society's quality of life, through the creation of more jobs and professional training.
According to the organizers, with the presence of at least eight countries, including Portugal, Spain, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Angola and Namibia, the fair, in addition to exhibiting tourism products and business opportunities, aims to promote debates on tourism, create mechanisms to offer services and promotional packages for air, rail and road transport and promote professional tours and internships in the sector.
At the launch of FIKANI-2024, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Fredson Bacar said that the event will not only provide a unique opportunity for national and international exhibitors and participants to explore business opportunities in the tourism sector, but will also serve as a stage for celebrating Mozambique's diversity and cultural heritage.
FIKANI is the government platform that promotes the meeting of businesspeople from the hospitality, tourism and culture sectors, with the aim of publicizing investment, business and leisure opportunities.
