Ferroviário da Beira qualified for BAL's regional phase

The formation of Ferroviário da Beira qualified this Saturday for the regional phase of the second edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), which will be held next month in the South African city of Johannesburg.

According to the weekly Domingo, Ferroviário da Beira, coached by William Perry, won the national qualifying tournament for BAL, thanks to its triumph (88-99) over its namesake from Maputo in the second meeting of the best-of-three play-offs. The Chiveve locomotives won the final by 2-0, after winning the first match by 93-66. In fact, they dominated the national phase, having won all six of their qualifying matches.

Ferroviário de Maputo missed, this way, the second presence in the African Basketball League that took place in Rwanda.
