Since dawn today, the Defense Forces of Mozambique, FDS and Rwanda have been fighting a major battle with the terrorists who attacked the village of Mbau, in the district of Mocímboa da Praia, Cabo Delgado province.

According to Zitamar, the insurgents blocked the N380 road between the villages of Chinda and Awasse, in the south of Mocímboa da Praia. No further details have yet been confirmed.

The information was confirmed this morning by the President of the Republic and the Commander-in-Chief of the DSF, in the municipality of Matola.

Nyusi explained that the enemy is already on the run after recording several casualties during the fighting.
