Multimedia student wins Fidelidade Ímpar Cartoon Contest

Estudante de multimédia vence Concurso de Cartoons da Fidelidade Ímpar

Alex Tarpan, a Multimedia student, was the big winner of the "Mais Traços Mais Seguros" cartoon competition, promoted by Fidelidade Ímpar.

On Tuesday, July 9, the insurance company held an awards ceremony that brought together the authors of the competition entries, members of the jury, Fidelidade Ímpar managers and other guests.

The occasion also saw the inauguration of an exhibition with all the works in the competition. The challenge was set to artists, creatives and students from higher and technical-vocational education with the aim of creating cartoons illustrating scenarios and situations related to insurance, using humor to show the advantages of insurance for families and companies.

A total of sixteen works were selected and submitted to a jury that assessed the works according to criteria such as originality, clarity of message, humor, creativity and differentiation.

This is an absolutely innovative initiative in Mozambique, with the support of the Fidelidade Group and aimed at supporting Mozambican financial literacy, talent, culture and the arts.

The author of the winning entry, Alex Tarpan, is 21 years old and in his third year of a Multimedia course at ISCIM - Instituto Superior de Comunicação e Imagem de Moçambique. He was awarded a trip to Portugal, where he will have the opportunity to visit the headquarters of the Fidelidade Group and a media outlet in Lisbon.

"Knowing that my project has been chosen as the best among so many other talented designers and illustrators is a source of great pride for me," said Alex Tarpan during the awards ceremony. The young creative aspires to work in the field of illustration, so he considers this "a dream opportunity".

"I'm very grateful to the organizers of the competition for making this moment possible and to everyone involved for being part of this journey. I hope that more opportunities like this can come my way," he said.

Carlos Leitão, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Fidelidade Moçambique, congratulated the young winner, highlighting the quality and originality of all the entries in the competition.

"This project makes us particularly proud because it is absolutely innovative in Mozambique and, at the same time, brings together Fidelidade Ímpar values such as inclusion, financial literacy, support for Mozambican talent, culture and the arts"he said.

According to Carlos Leitão, "in an accessible and engaging way, Fidelidade Ímpar is promoting a greater understanding of the importance of insurance in Mozambique, in order to guarantee the financial security of individuals, families and companies".

The competition was publicized to various educational institutions in the country - technical-vocational and higher education - covering a universe of more than 150,000 students. The initiative was also extended to candidates from the artistic world.

All the candidates who took part in the competition were entitled to a participation prize consisting of an annuity of Personal Accident Insurance.
