Everything indicates that this is the beginning of a new page in the history of local government in the city of Maputo. So far, the results, which have been published by various media, give victory to the Renamo party candidate, Venâncio Mondlane.  

As a way of thanking the electorate, Renamo will organize a caravan along the streets of Maputo city this afternoon at 2pm.

Through his official Facebook account, Venâncio Mondlane expressed himself as follows: “this victory is not mine, but ours. It is a powerful reminder that when we unite in pursuit of a common goal, we are capable of achieving extraordinary things. I am here to represent you, your voices and your concerns“. 

“You have trusted me to lead, and I promise that I will not take that trust lightly. I will work tirelessly to make our hopes and dreams come true, to create a better place for all of us," Mondlane stressed.
