The National Commission of Football Referees (CNAF), meeting in ordinary session on May 23, decided to preventively suspend "sine die" the referees Eduardo Chissano (chief) and Claudio Macamo (first assistant).
At issue is the performance of two referees in the game between Ferroviario da Beira, home team, and the Black Bulls of Maputo, on May 15, for the second round of the National Football Championship, Moçambola 2022.
The body of the Mozambican Football Federation responsible for refereeing appointed a Commission of Inquiry, consisting of Eduardo Mahumane, Adolfo Chitache and Paulo Buque, to determine the degree of culpability in the infringement of the laws of the game committed by the referees during the match.
The CNAF made the decision after the Match Analysis Committee's review of the technical delegate's report and analysis of the match footage.
A statement from the CNAF says that in the match there were refereeing errors that harmed both teams. At the end of the challenge, both teams complained about the performance of the refereeing team.
The Black Bulls believe that the locomotive's late equalizer was an offside position. The "locomotives" complain about two penalties not given in their favor.
Immune from sanctions are António Macuate (second assistant referee) and Pereira António (fourth referee), according to the CNAF Board.
