Mozambican scientist attends Nobel Laureates Meeting

The Mozambican scientist, Domingos Macuvele, will participate in the meeting that brings together about 611 young scientists from around the world. The 71st Meeting in Lindau, Germany, will take place from June 26 to July 1. The event brings together Nobel laureates from various fields.

Domingos Lusitaneo Pier Macuvele, 35 years old, is a professor at the University Rovuma. He is currently completing post-doctoral studies in chemical engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

"To be in this selected group is a great joy" said Dominic without hiding his satisfaction for having been invited to the event, whose selection criteria "are purely scientific". "This event means a lot to me".

The young Mozambican's expectation is to gather as much experience as possible among the Nobel laureates.

"I hope to leave the event inspired," hoping one day to be a laureate as well. "Any scientist dreams of winning such an award."

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings do not focus on presenting research results, but on exchanging ideas and discussing topics that are globally relevant to all scientists.

Nobel laureates who have already confirmed their attendance include Kurt Wüthrich - Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2002, Hartmut Michel - Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1988, Benjamin List - Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2021, Stefan W. Hell - Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2014, and Steven Chu - Nobel Prize in Physics 1997 (with Claude Cohen-Tannoudji and William D. Phillips).
