The National Football Team of Mozambique, "Mambas", is inserted in Group "A" of the African championship reserved for athletes who play in their domestic leagues, along with Algeria, hosts, Libya and Ethiopia, according to the draw which took place last night (Saturday) in Algeria.

Mozambique guaranteed its presence in the CHAN-2022, nine years after its first and only participation in the competition, after a scoreless draw with Malawi, passing by virtue of the goal scored away, since in Lilongwe the two teams finished equalized by one ball.

The current edition of the competition, in which the Mambas are participating for the second time, will involve 18 countries instead of 16 as in past years.
