Cabo Delgado : MISAU anuncia surto de conjuntivite bacteriana

This Friday, the Ministry of Health announced an outbreak of bacterial conjunctivitis in the province of Cabo Delgado. The information was shared after registering more than a thousand cases in less than two weeks.

The province of Cabo Delgado registered 1,108 cases of bacterial conjunctivitis between February 16 and 27 and, as a result, an outbreak of the disease was declared in that part of the country.

Most of the cases are concentrated in the Chiure district and children are among the most infected, according to data from the MoH.

The MISAU also says that there is a risk of bacterial conjunctivitis spreading to other parts of the country, due to its mobility and because it is an easily spread disease.
