GAIN Mozambique has laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Fish Hub in Mecúfi district, Cabo Delgado province.
The new center will be essential for processing, preserving and marketing fish, as well as including an ice production unit, guaranteeing better conditions for local fishermen and strengthening the blue economy in the province, according to "Noticias".
At the event, five motorboats were donated, equipped with fishing gear, thermal boxes and other safety accessories, which will enable greater efficiency and productivity for the region's fishing communities.
These actions are being carried out as part of the Sea Food project, implemented by GAIN Mozambique, with funds from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project also plans to donate 35 motorboats to the fishermen of Mecúfi, who were affected by Cyclone Chido. (Source: Notícias)
