The newly appointed Prime Minister, Benvinda Levi, received the portfolios for her new duties after being sworn in by the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo.

A press release from the Prime Minister's Office indicates that during the ceremony, the former Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, handed over the portfolios, an act witnessed by the officials and state agents assigned to the different work areas in the Prime Minister's Office.

"This ceremony symbolizes the full commencement of Prime Minister Benvinda Levi's duties in her Cabinet," the statement said.

Also according to the document, the Prime Minister is responsible for assisting and advising the President of the Republic on the direction of the government, as well as drawing up the government's Five-Year Program.

Benvinda Levi must also advise the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, to create Ministries and commissions of a ministerial nature, to appoint members of the government and other government leaders.

Levi, must also coordinate and control the activities of the Ministries and other government institutions, among other actions.
