The qualifying round for the National Basketball League, known as the Sasol League, for senior women kicks off this Thursday (26.09) in the southern and northern regions of the country.
A total of eight teams are expected to take part in the competition, four from each region, which will determine the representative for the regular phase of the competition.
The dispute over qualification in the south and north comes a week after the center did the same, with Clube Municipal da Beira qualifying as the representative of that central region of the country, in a competition that had only two teams, according to the publication "O País".
These qualified teams from the three regions of the country join the five that qualified directly from last year's edition, due to their position in the final standings, namely Ferroviário de Maputo, defending champion, Costa do Sol, runners-up, Lázio, A Politécnica and Ferroviário da Beira.
The regular phase of the Sasol League will take place in the country's capital next November.
