Renamo president Ossufo Momade says he is not worried about the support that the Democratic Alliance Coalition (CAD) and Venâncio Mondlane are gaining in various parts of the country.
"Our bases are intact. Our people are here. If you remember, in 2019, I had just taken over the presidency. The late Deviz Simango was also in the running and I left him behind. (...) We're going to work and that's why we're here. We have no threat," said the Renamo leader, quoted by the newspaper "O País".
Meanwhile, Ossufo Momade, who was speaking this Monday in Sofala after a popular rally, regretted the exclusion of CAD from the race for provincial and legislative elections by the National Electoral Commission.
He said that his party fought for democracy, which means the inclusion of all Mozambicans in elections.
"We thought we had the Mozambicans in the CAD so that we could move forward together. What we have seen with the CNE's decision, in its interpretation, the CAD leaders were unable to prepare the documentation," said Momade.( Source: O País)
