The 8th edition of the Mozambique International Tourism Fair kicks off today

From today until Saturday (15), the city of Maputo is hosting the International Tourism Fair, FIKANI Mozambique-2022, an event organized by the government through the National Tourism Institute (INATUR).

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, will officially open the 8th edition of the Mozambique International Tourism Fair-FIKANI 2022.

"In this 8th edition, which will last three days, various activities are scheduled, such as exhibitions, workshops, networking, social events and awards, where the best exhibitors will be honored, with emphasis on Best Exhibitor (Stand); Province; Foreign Exhibitor; Handicraft Exhibitor," a statement said.

The signing of memorandums of understanding between various entities and seminars on "Challenges for Tourism Development in the SADC Region" (Infrastructure, Connectivity, Security, Promotion, Economic Measures); and "Opportunities and Investment in the Tourism Sector" are also planned.

An International Restaurant Conference is also expected to be held, which will reflect on "The challenges of restaurants, catering and events as a driving factor for development in the context of Covid-19". There will also be a workshop entitled "Mozambique, a water sports destination" and "Gastronomy, flavors of the land".

Launched in 2013, FIKANI is an event for exhibiting, promoting and launching new products, cultural and tourist services, which aims to showcase the country to the world, showing and highlighting the best it has to offer in the sector.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in coordination with the private sector, will take place under the slogan "Tourism as a Factor in Economic Revitalization".

FIKANI Mozambique is the largest tourism industry exhibition in the country and is a prestigious business and meeting point for national tourism companies and institutions with their counterparts from the southern region and other parts of the world, the statement said.
