Archbishop of Beira says violence results from loss of social cohesion in families

Arcebispo da Beira diz que violência resulta da perda de coesão social nas famílias

The Archbishop of Beira, Dom Cláudio Dalla Zuanna, points to the loss of social cohesion within Mozambican families as the cause of different types of violence.

Quoted in a publication in "O País", the Archbishop argues that everyone must cultivate respect for life so that the country can recover its social well-being.

He said that social tension stems from different origins that contribute to social cohesion losing a lot of strength.

Dalla Zuanna was speaking at the end of a ceremony to open the academic year at UCM, where he is Chancellor Magnus, a ceremony that marked the start of the 30th anniversary festivities of this higher education institution.
