Apple has revamped the iPad and iPad mini. In addition to the usual performance improvements, highlights include the addition of the Centre Stage feature on the front camera.
According to the news from EXAME, the new iPad will hit the market next week. This time, Apple did not indicate a name for the models, but they are the ninth generation iPad and the sixth generation iPad mini.
As you would expect, the processing power has been improved. According to Apple, the A13 Bionic chip installed in the new iPad is 20% more powerful than the previous one and faster than competitors with Google operating systems. The Retina Display has a diagonal of 10.2" and has been installed in a chassis of similar dimensions to the previous model, which allows compatibility with many accessories already available, including covers/keyboards.
The new iPad hits the stores next week, with a base price of $399.
iPad mini much faster
The iPad Mini seems to represent a broader upgrade. The bezels are thinner, allowing the integration of an 8.3-inch screen with more brightness (500 nits) and less reflections.
The performance increase indicated represents a considerable jump: 40% in the CPU, 80% in the GPU, and twice as much performance in neural processing (for AI, for example). All thanks to the inclusion of the new A15 processor.
The physical button includes TouchID for user authentication, and the USB C port makes it easy to use accessories and improves charging speed. The new Mini is compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil (with magnetic attachment). It hits the market next week, with a starting price of $569.
Cameras with Centre Stage
The most underlined new feature is available on the two newly announced iPad: 12-megapixel front-facing camera with Centre Stage, which was already available on the iPad Pro. This feature allows you to automatically reframe the person or persons identified in the image. For example, it is able to open the plane if it detects the arrival of another person during a video call.
