Elvino Dias' widow and children have been living in an unknown location for days due to constant threats and an attempted kidnapping believed to be carried out by death squads, writes the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CDD).
According to the CDD report, the widow and her children are being pursued by the same death squads that murdered the lawyer and legal advisor to the presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane.
This scenario led to the widow leaving the house and settling in an uncertain place for the safety of herself and her children.
The woman told CDD that a few days after her husband's funeral she began to receive threats of various kinds, including death threats from unknown people.
She also said that a few days ago she and her children escaped an attempted kidnapping.
Elvino Dias was murdered shortly after 9pm on October 18, in the "Primavera" area, in the Coop neighborhood, along Joaquim Chissano Avenue, in Maputo city.
Two months after her murder, there are still no results from the investigations that the police said they were carrying out to find the perpetrators of that macabre crime.
Venâncio Mondlane's lawyer was murdered at a time when he was organizing a dossier of evidence to present to the Constitutional Council on the electoral fraud that had been perpetrated during the electoral process.
