Afrobasket: FAB refutes FMB accusations and calls them false and insulting

Afrobasket: FAB refuta acusações da FMB e classifica de falsas e injuriosas

The Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) refutes the Mozambican Basketball Federation's (FMB) accusations that the national team was subjected to mistreatment by not providing transportation during the qualifying window for Afrobasket 2025.

The FAB refutes all the accusations and calls them false and insulting. The FAB clarifies that it provided transportation, according to "O Pais", citing a note of repudiation from the FAB.

"It was, therefore, with surprise that the Angolan Basketball Federation was confronted with news that imputed to the FAB a lack of care in the organization of the competition and insinuations that it subjected the Mozambican delegation to walk to the pavilion," explains the note quoted by the newspaper.

In this sense, the same note states: "in particular, the FAB vehemently repudiates the accusations of the president of the Mozambican Basketball Federation who, in a frivolous and unreasonable manner, accused the FAB of sabotaging the Mozambican national team, in a behavior that reflects a false and insulting accusation that is unworthy of a president of a federation of a brother country".

The Angolan federation accuses the FMB of having a debt relating to AFROCAN 2022. Mazivila assumes the debt and explains that the matter is out of context.

Mozambique and Angola were the only countries to compete in the qualifying window for Afrobasket in southern Africa.
