Access Bank reforça o apoio ao empoderamento das mulheres em África

Access Bank Plc, one of Africa's leading banks, has reinforced its commitment to women's empowerment in southern Africa by relaunching the "W Initiative" in Zambia and Botswana.

The program offers a variety of non-financial financial services designed to promote women's financial inclusion and socio-economic development.

The initiative offers personalized financial solutions, such as savings, investments, loans and training programs. It also promotes women's financial literacy and professional growth.

At the launch event in Zambia, Chizoma Okoli, Deputy General Manager of Access Bank Plc, stressed the importance of initiatives that empower women.

"Empowering women is central to Access Bank's mission to drive economic growth in Africa. Through the 'W Initiative', we want to provide tailored financial solutions and create environments that promote the success of women, whether as entrepreneurs, professionals or leaders in their communities," said Chizoma Okoli.

In collaboration with local leaders, including the Vice-President of Zambia, Mutala Nalumango, Access Bank Zambia also donated 500,000 kwachas (approximately 23,750 USD) for nutritional programs in the Vice-President's office, reinforcing the commitment to the well-being of communities.

In Botswana, the launch of the "W Initiative" set a new milestone in women's financial empowerment. Sheperd Aisam, Managing Director of Access Bank Botswana, pointed out that the program offers solutions such as loans for vacations, health and education, as well as high-interest savings accounts, promoting long-term wealth creation.

Over the last 17 years, Access Bank has invested more than 338.6 billion naira (approximately 440 million USD) in financing for more than 3.6 million women.

Among the products on offer is the "W" Health Loan, which includes the Maternal Health Service Support (MHSS), designed to fund fertility treatments and specific health care for women.

MHSS has already helped more than 160 women and families in Africa, funding treatments worth 245.5 million naira (around 318,000 USD) and contributing to the birth of 104 babies. In addition, the program includes loans for medical emergencies and cancer treatments.

The "W Initiative" is present in 12 African countries, including Mozambique, and is a testament to Access Bank's commitment to empowering women by providing access to financial opportunities that help them thrive.
