Access Bank donates books to elementary school in Maputo

Access Bank doa livros a escola primária em Maputo

Access Bank Mozambique has donated books to the library of the Guava Primary School, in Maputo Province.

The initiative, which took place this Wednesday, was promoted in partnership with Alcance Editores and took place in the scope of Access Bank's social responsibility actions.

The donation comes about three weeks after the bank also gave books to the Matadouro Secondary School in Beira, in a clear commitment to the education of the younger generation in Mozambique.

In this latest donation, the books were delivered to the students in a ceremony presided over by the Governor of Maputo Province, Júlio José Parruque, who praised the initiative.

"We need more partners with this vision of investing in education, because this way it is possible to train our children to be self-sufficient and build a more sustainable future," he said.

The representative of Access Bank, Alexandre Langa, said that the bank's objective is to stimulate reading and knowledge among young Mozambicans, giving more tools to the students so that they can be successful in their school career.

The academic community present at the ceremony praised the initiative, noting that access to books will have a significant impact on the daily lives of students and teachers at that elementary school.

The donation is part of the library equipping project in Mozambique and reflects the commitment that Access Bank has assumed with the country, namely in the education area.
