Absa Bank Moçambique has just been recognized by the British magazine Global Banking & Finance Review, as the bank with the "Best ESG Mozambique 2022 Business Strategy".

This is an award that evaluates a set of practices and standards that define the level of sustainability of an organization's operations. The distinction also indicates that the Bank is socially aware.

Also in the Global Banking & Finance Review Awards 2022, the bank was also distinguished with the award of "Best Bank for HR and Recruitment Mozambique 2022", thus reinforcing the distinction as the "Best Employer in Africa" awarded earlier this year by the Top Employee Institute. The 2022 awards put Absa Bank Mozambique among the winners for the fourth consecutive year.

In the same award, the magazine distinguishes, for the third consecutive year, the Managing Director of Absa Bank Mozambique, Rui Barros, with the prize of "Best Banking Executive 2022", in Mozambique.

This year's awards recognize the delivery and commitment of the bank, its managers and employees for innovation, execution, achievement of strategies, progressive and inspiring change, and for providing excellent service.

The Managing Director of Absa Bank Mozambique, Rui Barros, says that the awards are a great pride for Absa because they demonstrate the commitment to society, to the communities where they operate, with their customers and employees in particular.

"For us it has been a priority to put our customers and our employees at the center of everything we do, but not only that, we are committed to the Sustainable Development Goals and made our public commitment when we became signatories to the United Nations Global Compact in 2021 and started a journey that we are very proud of for a more sustainable country, continent and world," he said.
