The free school textbook will follow a new distribution schedule from this year in Mozambique.
It could be distributed in the last quarter of each year, as a way of adjusting the school distribution calendar for the dry season, according to the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, yesterday (24) in Pemba, during the extraordinary session of the Executive Council of the northern province of Cabo Delgado.
"This year, we're going to do everything so that the book is distributed in the dry season, that is, September, October and November, the book for 2026," said Chapo.
Meanwhile, for the current school year, the distribution of school books has been going on since last January in all secondary schools run by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Last Tuesday, the government said it had distributed more than 47 percent of the school books, and at the time pointed to difficulties in accessing the schools covered by the rain as the main cause of the delay.
The government has distributed around five million books, which means that around seven million books have yet to be distributed. The process should finish by the end of March.
